Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We’ve gathered the most common questions patients ask about referrals, treatments, logistics, and costs. If you don’t see your question here, please contact us at 306-933-0755.

Referrals & Getting Started

Do I need a referral?

  • Integrative Medicine Consults: Referral required from your family physician or allied healthcare provider. Referrals are triaged by urgency. Current wait time for routine consults is approximately 2 years.

  • WCB Referrals: Must be initiated by your physician and approved by WCB.

  • Interventional Appointments (injections/procedures): Referral required, triaged by urgency. Wait time is typically 2–6 months.

  • Chronic Pain Group Sessions: No referral required. You may self-refer by contacting the clinic directly to join the waitlist.

What happens at my first visit?
Your initial consultation usually lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the type of consult. It includes:

  • A detailed health history and review of medical records

  • Physical examination (as necessary)

  • Discussion of your health goals

  • Creation of a complete integrative health treatment plan

How often will I need a follow-up appointment?
Follow-ups are often scheduled every 4–6 weeks, then may extend to every 1–3 months depending on your care plan.

Treatments & Coordination of Care

What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine combines conventional medical treatments with evidence-based complementary approaches such as nutrition, movement, mind-body techniques, and lifestyle interventions. The focus is on whole-person care and long-term health outcomes.

Do you coordinate with my other healthcare providers?
Yes. We aim to complement—not replace—your existing medical care. Open communication with your family physician and other providers is encouraged.

Are treatments safe and evidence-based?
Yes. All recommendations are grounded in current medical evidence, tailored to your individual needs, and discussed openly with you.

Insurance, Costs & Billing

Are visits covered by insurance?
Yes. All medical services are billed through the public healthcare system, the same as any other physician visit.

What services are not covered?

  • PRP injections: These are private-pay procedures with an out-of-pocket fee.

  • Group visits: Fees vary depending on the program. Please check with the clinic for current pricing.

Do you offer financial assistance?
No. Since nearly all services are covered under public billing, financial assistance is not necessary.

Logistics & Patient Portal

How do I schedule appointments?
All bookings are done by calling the clinic directly at 306-933-0755. Online booking is not currently available.

Can I access my medical results online?

  • Labs and imaging: Accessible through Saskatchewan’s eHealth system.

  • Results from tests ordered by me: Reviewed with patients during a scheduled virtual or in-person appointment.

What do I need to complete before my first appointment?
All new patients are required to complete an intake form. This is sent out by my assistant and must be returned before your appointment so your information can be processed and I can provide the best possible care.

Additional Services

Do you offer group programs or educational sessions?
Yes. Group medical visits and educational programs are available at times and may provide earlier access to care.

Do you offer retreats or community health programs?
Not at this time, but this is something to stay tuned for—I plan to offer retreats in the future.
