Medicinal Movement

Dr. Tyler Maltman believes that — no matter where you are in the journey of life — movement is essential for good health.

Medicinal movement focuses on how to enjoy moving your body in a safe and effective way so that you experience both an improvement in the function of your body and an increased quality of life. To this end, it’s important to understand that we each house a unique skeleton — no two skeletons are alike. Ignoring your unique skeleton is dangerous and frustrating. Accepting and embracing your unique skeleton allows you to build a safe movement practice and acknowledge your capabilities. (For more on this, click here.)

People with injuries and physical limitations will benefit most from this way of thinking about their body.

Dr. Maltman’s approach to medicinal movement combines his formal medical education with his intensive yoga studies. An abundance of evidence proves that yoga and exercise are effective for treating anxiety, insomnia, depression, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and hypertension.
